WWE 2026 USA v WWE 2018 China

WWE — CORPUS CHRISTI TO SHANGHAI 🌎
I’ve had the opportunity to support WWE productions on two different sides of the world, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai with Global Stage Techs Inc., and here at home in Corpus Christi with Antares Staging & Rigging Inc.
And what an operation WWE is.
In the United States, WWE rolls into town like a small traveling city. They carry their own touring technical support along with an enormous amount of infrastructure; trucks, touring buses, catering, physical therapy and medical support, production offices, maintenance facilities, and everything necessary to keep a major touring production moving from city to city.
The lighting and LED/video systems suspended over the center of the arena are impressive, and I’ve seen the production integrate the venue’s existing center-hung video board into the overall show as well.
Then there was Shanghai.
At the Mercedes-Benz Arena, I was there with Global Stage Techs Inc., working alongside Creative Technology (CT), who provided traveling technical support for that production.
The international touring model was noticeably different. There weren’t nearly as many trucks and buses traveling with the show. Touring personnel were largely hotel-based, with greater reliance on local infrastructure and technical personnel.
There was also another layer you don't always appreciate until you've worked a major international production: translators, local technical coordination, and health and safety professionals working alongside the international team to keep communication, production, and safety moving together.
For me, there’s a personal connection between those two WWE productions.
In Shanghai, it was Global Stage Techs Inc. Today in Corpus Christi, it’s Antares Staging & Rigging Inc.
I have ownership in both companies, so it’s pretty remarkable to look back and realize that our teams have supported WWE on two sides of the world, under two very different touring models.
Shanghai to Corpus Christi. Global Stage Techs to Antares Staging & Rigging.
Different countries. Different logistics. Different technical support structures.
But when the doors open, the lights come up, and the arena fills, it’s WWE!
From a stage technician’s perspective, what a sight to see and a hell of an operation to be part of.
